Philemon
1Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, To Philemon our dear friend and fellow worker,
2to Apphia our sister, to Archippus our fellow soldier and to the church that meets in your home:
3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers,
5because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints.
6I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.
7Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.
8Therefore, although in Christ I could be bold and order you to do what you ought to do,
9yet I appeal to you on the basis of love. I then, as Paul—an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus—
10I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains.
11Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.
12I am sending him—who is my very heart—back to you.
13I would have liked to keep him with me so that he could take your place in helping me while I am in chains for the gospel.
14But I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that any favor you do will be spontaneous and not forced.
15Perhaps the reason he was separated from you for a little while was that you might have him back for good—
16no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother. He is very dear to me but even dearer to you, both as a man and as a brother in the Lord.
17So if you consider me a partner, welcome him as you would welcome me.
18If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me.
19I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand. I will pay it back—not to mention that you owe me your very self.
20I do wish, brother, that I may have some benefit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ.
21Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I ask.
22And one thing more: Prepare a guest room for me, because I hope to be restored to you in answer to your prayers.
23Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends you greetings.
24And so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas and Luke, my fellow workers.
25The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
Hebrews 1
1In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
3The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
4So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
5For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father"? Or again, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son"?
6And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."
7In speaking of the angels he says, "He makes his angels winds, his servants flames of fire."
8But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy."
10He also says, "In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
11They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
12You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end."
13To which of the angels did God ever say, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet"?
14Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

Hebrews 1:11They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. 12You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.” The things of this world will all pass away and will not last forever, overtime they will fade away. But God has always been, before the creation of the world, and always will be in the the time to come. We have to make sure that our priorities are set on the things that actually have meaning, not the things that are pointless. God needs to be above all else and second to none; He needs to be all that matters. As the song that we sing a lot “All That Matters” says, “You are all that matters; all that satisfies; all that gives me life; and stand the test of time. You are my portion; My only passion; You mean everything to me; Everything.” We need to not be caught up in the here and now with all that this world has to offer, but keep our focus on Christ. I need to make sure that God is always my only passion, and that I never let anything else come before Him. MARANATHA!!!!!!! In Christ, SEE

i really liked these verses this morning. they mean that God is all love and He is just so loving it gives us encouregment.
LIke I said last night, I still need prayer for the day today. Yesterday, many of my friends that I was talking to about God and why I believe in him rejected me and/or had their own debates with me. Pray that their hearts would be sofened and the God would work thru me and that I would speak the right words.
12….. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”
We are learning things like this in partners right now- about God’s atributes. One of which is he is eternal, which means that he was around from the beginning of time and created time, and will always be around. Another atribute of our great God is that he is immutable. Now usually that is a very big word for me to understand, but Heather explained to me what it means. It means that thru all these years that God has been around, he has never changed. And he never will. This schows me how amazing and powerful our God is . He never changes and he last forever.

I then, as Paul—an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus— i liked these verses. in verses 8-9 paul is saying that he doesn’t want to be bosy and order us around but he loves them and is asking them to do stuff.
I enjoyed reading these two chapters. Some of the verses had a great meaning. Like Philemon verse 7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints. I like this verse because it says to me that when we get love from god it is like getting the most encouragement that you can possibly get. If you have refreshed in the hearts of the saints or if you have come together with all your christian brothers than we can all have the encouragement of god. If you have encouragement from god then god is telling you to do something worthy to him.
18 If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me. 19I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand. I will pay it back—not to mention that you owe me your very self
when someone does somthing against anyone we should have him punish us not the one who did it so that we can pay it back to you

Gods throne does not ever parish, it is an eternal kingdom that can never been shaken. So we need to put our trust in that, not any kingdom or throne made by human hands.

I thought Hebrews 1:3 is a grat summary of the diety (Godliness) of Jesus:
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
So while we love Jesus as our savior, and think of him as our mediator to the Father, we must also remember that he is God and he has all the power and authority of the Father!
Have a great day all - bring someone to church this weekend…
my favorite verse is verse 7 In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels winds, his servants flames of fire.”
because it sounds awesom
10I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains.
11Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.
Paul is very truthful in all his communcation. yet ther is also much love.
3The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
Wow. nothing more need to be said.
Keep praying, can you believe God wants to talk to us.
3.”The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
The Lord is “sustaining ALL things by His powerful word.”! In Him everything exists & has it’s being…we belong to this amazing God, if we have truly turned to Him in repentance & faith! He provided the purification for our state of sin by His death & resurrection. We can stand righteous before God because the ONE that sits at the “right hand of the God” has redeemed us!
9″You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness…” If we are truly regenerated, repentant, & faithful, our minds have been renewed by the “washing” of the Word (study & application of Scripture), we now are filled with the Holy Spirit & should have new desires: LOVE what is righteous & HATE what is wicked! This means that we no longer love the world or are “friends” with it, in the sense that our thoughts & hearts should now be focused on the things of God. This will make us seem really weird & foolish to the “world” & our unsaved friends & family members, but we need to desire the praise of God & not of men…longing & joyfully anticipating that rich welcome into Heaven that will make any trial in this world seem like NOTHING.
Jesus is the radiance of God’s Glory and His exact reprsentation of His being. I love this chapter. Jesus is God!!! He is eternal ……the same yesterday, today, and fprever!!!! I am so thankful to God for His Son Jesus who lived a perfect life as an example for me to strive for. I am also thankful for the gift of the Bible so I can read the gospels and watch how Jesus lived and learn from His teachings. I am most thankful that Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross for my sins so that I could be forgiven, able to have a relationship with my Father in Heaven and have eternal life!!!
Paul is such a great example to all Christians on how we should be living for Christ. I know there is not that much persecution in America and we wont be thrown in jail by speaking about the Lord but that should make us even more excited and ready to spread the gospel. Paul also takes care of all of his friends and expects a lot out of them and they fulfill and go over his expectations. i also want to fill and go over what i need to do.
I read this sorta’ late morning . . . (believe it or not, I just got up, 10:00a.m., well actually I’ve been resting in bed since 8:30a.m. till now!) lol!
My favorite verses were . . .
Hebrews 1:10-12, “10. He also says, In the begginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands, 11. They will perish , but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. 12. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”
I believe that these verses were basically saying that God is ALMIGHTY! He is the creator of the heavens and the earth, and one day the earth will tarnish like clothes and perish into nothing. It’s also telling us to remember that the earth is only worldy, so it’s not your perminant home! HEAVEN IS! =)

I love the book of Hebrews, especially ch. 1. I love how God makes it clear that Jesus is the Messiah and a part of the godhead.
v. 8: “But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever…”
v. 9: “You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
How can people read this and think that Jesus was just a person, or just a prophet??? God called Jesus “O God” and “your God”. Our God came to earth in the person of Jesus Christ to live the perfect life we cannot, and to die a substitutionary death for us (the only perfect lamb). Only God could fix our sin problem, and he had to do it himself. Absolutely mindboggling!!
Ari - are you homeschooled or sick??? I can’t remember the last time I slept till 10:00 a.m. (my mom was super strict about getting up early - whether you had anything to do or not…). Hope you’re well. Oh, thanks for the emails, I hope I can encourage you girls and keep smiles on your lovely faces!!
ELLO… I red
I like verse 9,”Yet I appeal to you on the basis of love. I then, as Paul—an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus.”
I like these verses because it says that Paul is a prisoner of JESUS and that he is old well that isn’t the point that he is old the point is that he is a PRISONER as a prisoner you would usually think that it is a bad thing but when you are talking about a prisoner of GOD that is the best title in the world it is even better then that stupid knight thing where everyone has to call you sir, stupid queen…. SRY SRY SRY to the queen….. OK well that was odd well back to the point the title and reputation of prisoner of GOD is the best no arguement well in this verse it says Paul is an old man and still traveling and preaching and still being thrown in jail when most people reach a certain age they retire but not Paul, he keeps on trying and succeeding in preaching GOD’s WORD and he is dead now but I bet he has many treasures in HEAVEN.

11They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
12You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”
when the world is at end we will live on for we are christians and we need to act and become like God or at least try….
and please pray for me b/c i am going to play in junior high church this weekend and i hope that i will do good
11They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
12You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”
How awesome is it that we have a God who never changes and who has always existed? He is our creator and just to destroy us but gives us life and salvation. I like how he talks about none of the angels being at thr right hand of God, they are to serve Him just as were are to serve Him.
8Therefore, although in Christ I could be bold and order you to do what you ought to do,
9yet I appeal to you on the basis of love. I then, as Paul—an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus—
last weekes services was awsome like paster lukes said
“everything and everyone has a cause ”
you can tell god exisitest by just looking around you.
MARANATHA TO US ALL
6I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.
this verse stood out to me because it actually tells us to share the gospel massage and to share our faith with everyone even ifit means that we will suffer for it. I definately need to share my faith with more of my “christian” friends.
please pray for me to make the right descision for what to do on Sat. the 15th I have 180 discipleship and another event I don’t want to miss. :(
c u all on the weekend
10He also says, “In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
this verse says to me that he is the creater of everything and that he is the master of everything and that we live in the world he created.
10He also says, “In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
this verse says to me that he is the creater of everything and that he is the master of everything and that we live in the world he created.
theres nothing relates to me in this passage right now
3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
we should always share God’s love to everyone even the people who sin against us.
“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men of their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15
see everyone @ church !!!!!!
I read…
Philemon & Hebrews 1
Verse 6 of Philemon says, “I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.” WOW! I love this verse. In order to completely experience the fullness & happiness of being a believer you must put your faith to work, by having a thirst to glorify God in all you do and by sharing your faith!
i like verse 6 because we need to be active in sharing our faith! we need to not hold back but share to everyone. we need to have and understanding of what we have in christ. we need to be thankful for all that we have. i like verse 8 because it says that he is bold in christ and not through his on power. through christ we can do anything. i love verse 13 because it says that he was in chains for the gospel. we wont have to go to prison for sharing but we should want to.
i cant post on hebrews but i am going to read it!
8Therefore, although in Christ I could be bold and order you to do what you ought to do,
9yet I appeal to you on the basis of love. I then, as Paul—an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus—
As always, we need to share the word, and help bring them closer to God. Pray for each other so that there will be more posts, and more Christians!
I read…. Philemon!
4I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers
9yet I appeal to you on the basis of love. I then, as Paul—an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus—
Verse 4- I really like this verse because it is a great reminder of how ambitious we should be when it comes to praying. We need to ALWAYS thank God in our prayers!! No matter what is going on in our life at the time!
Verse 9- I really really really really really loved the last part of this verse “now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus”. This should be how we are… we need to be prisoners of Christ Jesus! loving and serving him in everything we do. He should be our master and we should be his slaves.
I liked Hebrews 1:11. Everything will pass away! Everything you love and want from this world is a waste, spend your time here in a way that will last forever!!! There is a song that says: “If I had a minute for every hour I wasted, I would be rich in time.” Don’t waste your life, don’t regret it. God will last forever, don’t put your love in something that will burn or rust, but in something that lasts forever! We have to put God as our First Priority!!! WE NEED TO WANT IT MORE!!! Our love for God should be so great, everything else should seem like dust. Store up your treasures in Heaven! Don’t waste your time, live for God.
!!!MARANATHA!!!
I read… Hebrews 1!!
3The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
I also like this verse because it just talks about how great and powerful Christ Jesus and God the Father are. The part where it says “he had provided purification for sins” is really important to me, because i need to be more thankful to Christ everyday for purifying me!!!
Im so excited for tomorrow at church… and also on sunday!
In the book of Philemon, Paul and Timothy are addressing Philemon, Apphia, Archippus, and the church by first approaching that they are thanked in his prayers “5because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints.”
Together they go on to say:
6I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.
These two verses really reach out to show how much walking close to God and how much listening to his Word are so tremendously important. I can’t stress enough the importance of faith and sharing that faith. Paul and Timothy are keeping these people (who were mentioned previously) in their prayers because they have been faithful in the Lord Jesus. But of course, our faith should never stop there. Verse 6 tells us that prayers are also being prayed in recognition to them ‘actively sharing their faith so that they can have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.’ I need to pray for myself and the Christians that have been placed around me to be actively sharing our faith. As we begin to share and recognize our faith we will remind ourselves of all the great things we have in Christ! Faith is so important to have as a Christian and should be addressed in our daily prayers!
11They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
Everything outside of Heaven will grow weak and break, but God will be strong and remain forever.Over time they will lose their beauty, but God will always look magestic.
God is good all the time, all the time God is good
Hi Holly!!
These words should encourage us.

heyy everyone! i apologize for not being on here for like EVER!!! i feel so bad and i know i have said this multiple times. anyway!
…i really liked verse 3 in hebrews 1: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
Jesus is RADIANT! its amazing how we cannot even fathom how amazing, bright, and glorious God REALLY is!! it just blows me away :)! He sustains us in EVERY situation…EVERY TIME! its just such a comforting feeling to know that God really does love us that much to sustain us always. i kinda knew what sustain meant but i wanted to look it up for a better understanding. here are 3 definitions:
1. to support, hold, or bear up from below; bear the weight of, as a structure.
2. to bear (a burden, charge, etc.).
3. to undergo, experience, or suffer (injury, loss, etc.); endure without giving way or yielding.
wow! just think that God does all that just for the sinful people we are! i cant even believe it. even when we ignore God and go with the world, He is right there beside us loving us unconditionally. i know when i am out, say at swim, i can get nervous and scared to tell about the Lord, but then i feel Him there with me and sustaining me perfectly! it just makes me so happy!! that reminds me of this song at revolve tour last year. haha sorry, totally off topic. but anyway, i just feel so amazing, now that im back in the Word!
may the Lord sustain us all!
11They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
Today with my partner I discussed how God is everlasting, I think this might be one of the verses the book pointed out. It is soooooo true, God is everlasting, unchnaging, and all powerful.
Philemon 16 “no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother. He is very dear to me but even dearer to you, both as a man and as a brother in the Lord.”
The slave paul is talking about is kind of similar to Jesus, I think. He is better than a slave, and he is very dear to us followers, because of all the incredible things he has done for us. THERE ARE TOO MANY THINGS TO LIST!!!!!
Hebrews 1:11 “They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.”
Hebrews 1:12 “You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”
I love these two verses!!!! I believe they say that we will all perish, but the Lord never will. He will never die, he will always be around with us. He will never leave us!!!!! :)
Don’t stop praying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to be praying for all us just as Paul prayed in Philemon verse 6,
“I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.”
Without being active in our faith we will not have full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. If we are not active in be bold for the gospel we are missing out on the joy of winning people to Christ. We are missing out on God’s power working through us. We are missing out on bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that we will be active in sharing our faith with EVERYONE!
2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
3The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
I think that these two verses are great pretty much they are saying that Jesus is the greatest example of God and the one who speaks to us for God because of this and because of His sacrifice this makes Jesus mighty and powerful and greater than all of us and all the angels because of this we should praise Him for His greatness and His glory
see ya at Church!!!! I thought that was very cool of you Morgan to talk to people at school about Christ we both need to represent Him there MARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
