Hebrews 7
1This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him,
2and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, his name means "king of righteousness"; then also, "king of Salem" means "king of peace."
3Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.
4Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!
5Now the law requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people—that is, their brothers—even though their brothers are descended from Abraham.
6This man, however, did not trace his descent from Levi, yet he collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.
7And without doubt the lesser person is blessed by the greater.
8In the one case, the tenth is collected by men who die; but in the other case, by him who is declared to be living.
9One might even say that Levi, who collects the tenth, paid the tenth through Abraham,
10because when Melchizedek met Abraham, Levi was still in the body of his ancestor.
11If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the law was given to the people), why was there still need for another priest to come—one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?
12For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law.
13He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar.
14For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.
15And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears,
16one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.
17For it is declared: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."
18The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless
19(for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.
20And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without any oath,
21but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him: "The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: 'You are a priest forever.' "
22Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.
23Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office;
24but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
25Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
26Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
27Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
28For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.

GOOOOOOOODDD MOOOORNING!!!!! :P
i read…
27Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
wow i really liked this verse!!!! it is saying that Jesus does not need to sacrifice an offering each day because He was te ultimate sacrifice when He was crucified on the cross. He does not need to give sacrifices for His sins because (well first of all He is perfect) and second of all He was pounded with all of our sins when He was laying there on the cross.
26Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens
i also liked this verse. it is saying that we need a priest (a God) who is going to meet all of the things we need : holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens,….. and God meets ALL of those needs!!!!

TNN WAS GREAT LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!
***REMEMBER*** THE REVIVAL HAS ONLY JUST BEGUUN!!!! :)
Hebrews 7:26Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. We were supposed to live a perfect life, but as Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” We were supposed to be perfect, and we are not. But instead of suffering the consequences for our sin, Jesus Christ came down and took our place, living a perfect life and dying for us, the raising himself from the grave. He is, as the verse says, “blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.” I really like the last part about exalted in the Heavens. God deserves all the praise and thanks for everything that we have. We need to be so thankful that Jesus came down to earth to suffer our punishment and take our place. I need to not take for granted the many things that God has blessed me with, but instead be grateful to God , thanking and praising Him. MARANATHA!!!!! In Christ, SEE
27Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. - im guessing by this that the Melchizedek is Jesus. with that in mind it makes a whole lot more sense! Jesus never sinned, so He shouldn’t have to sacrifice for Himself cause Hes perfect. He sacrificed himself for us so we can live eternally with Him and His Father.
I enjoyed reading Hebrews 7. There were some verses that had a great meaning. Like verse 19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God. I like this verse because it says to me that the law does not make anything perfect it just keeps order. A better hope is introduced when we get closer to god by accepting him in to our lives. So when we come to god it is like we have hope that everything will be good. It is good because the lord makes it that way this is why we need to tell non christians. We also need to encourage our christian family to spend more time wanting to learn more about god.
ELLO… I red
I like verse 3,”Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.”
I like this verse because it says that GOD is without father and mother without beginning or end of life that is because HE always was and always will be no one can kill HIM no one can stop HIM not one has ever made GOD. HE always was so therefore we cannot say,”HE was born,” HE always was nothing can ever change that some may deny it and believe something completely impossible like evolution or something like the big bang, this is the dumbest theory when does nothing explode and when does an explosion create if you strap a bomb to a building does it make it a bigger and better building no! it destroys the thing completely if it is a big enough bomb. We have to be ready to say that GOD always was and that nothing could have created the earth but HIM.

27Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
we do not have to offer sacrifices anymore because Jesus was the ultamite sacrifice that took away all of our sins
c u all at 180 disciplship on saturday
I loved Hebrews 7:27.
Jesus was the Ultimate sacrifice!!! No one else can kill himself to save other people! Jesus is the one that gives true salvation. Jesus was and is perfect, if some one else was perfect, than our faith is useless! And Jesus is the only one who defeated death, He resurrected! No body else did that, and it is a proven fact that Jesus raised from the dead! God deserves the praise for all this, no body else should be having this glory! We should be thanking and praising Him, we should be at His mercy! Jesus SAVED us, He didn’t have to, but He did it for the unexplainable love He has for us.
!!!MARANATHA!!!
26Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
I like this verse because it reminds me that God is always there to meet all my needs. He is absolutely perfect and is someone that I can always follow and learn to live like as much as I can. God always watches and takes care of everyone.
I thought that these verses were good because they tell of how powerful our GOD is and that he doesn’t need to offer sacrifices everyday because he has already made the greatest sacrifice for all people.
27 He isn’t like the other high priests. They need to offer sacrifices day after day. First they bring offerings for their own sins. Then they do it for the sins of other people. But Jesus gave one sacrifice for the people. He gave it once and for all time. He did it by offering himself.
I like this verse because it helps me understand how big a sacrifice him dying was. He only had to do one because his sacrifice was so great. He sacrificed himself for everyone in one time. That is amazing bacause everyone else sacrificed everday for themself and other people.
hebrews 7 was a really FUN chapter to read, i dont know why! it kind of reminded me of a story, i just seriously love it sooooooooo much!! it made me joyful inside! i really like verse 25: “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”
Jesus is ALWAYS alive and ready to save us. He has been alive, is alive, and will be alive forever more. i think its amazing how we just take it for granted that Jesus loves and cares about us so much. just thinking about that makes me kinda sad. knowing that we, as socalled disciples of Christ, would even take for granted his love, patience, forgiveness, ect.! its just blows me away. i think we all need to remember his love for us, because it is great and everlasting. “His love endures forever…” we need to hold that tight to us during bad AND good times. Jesus doesnt want to be there for only the bad times, he wants to be there always! isnt that such a neat feeling? knowing that there is someone out there that loves you no matter what and wants you to love Him back! i feel so loved and cherished by those very words. im just so in the mood to go evangelise after this chapter! i hope we break 50 posts today! come on people ENCOURAGE people to be on here DAILY!! i am trying and now my accountiblity partner is really there for me. if you dont have an accountibilibuddy, get one!! its such an amazing, TRUE, friend.
***POST POST POST***
I read this on this SPECTACULAR morning God created . . .
Hebrews 7 . . .
I believe the easiest verse for me to understand was verse “25. Thereforse he is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, becasue he always lives to intercede for them.” I believe that this verse is talking about whoever decides to stop living for themselves and stricly for God 100% 24/7, one who repents and puts their faith in God, shall be saved and go to Heaven to spent Eternity with God. If you are truley ready to make the commitment, then go for it and become a Christian! I know sometimes may be hard for some people, you feel like you want to become a Christian but your just concerned that you won’t live it out 100% 24/7! Or you just sin to much, so then you feel that you’re not a Christian any more! But according to this verse, ANYONE CAN BECOME A CHRISTIAN! =)

I liked this verse, it reminds me how thankful I should be that christ sacrificed himself for us so that we may be saved, our relationship is no longer on an old testiment basis or burnt sacrifices, but by grace, because of Christ who is perfect and led the perfect life for us so that we may be saved and inherit the kingdom of heaven.
How cool it is that since way early on in the Old Testament a system was set up where a Priest would be someone who is set up to go before God for the people…a perfect example of what Christ does for us - he goes before God to represent us like a priest did. This should move us to not only awe of God’s perfect plan played out but thankfulness that we have a “priest” that took care of our need for someone to go before God for us once and for all!
This is talking about Jesus Christ coming down to this earth living a perfect and sinless life then dying on the cross for all the sins of the world. There is no other man that could live a perfect life and be the perfect lamb. Because Jesus died on the cross He is the bridge that connnects us to God to make the relationship
Hebrews 7:26:27 Such a high priest meets our need- one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. This verse is neat cause it says that Jesus is set apart from other priests, that he is blameless and that he is blameless and pure. And he also sacraficed once and thats all he neeed to do. We need to be thankful that Jesus did that for us.
C U @ CHURCH SAT NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like verse 27!!!
The Lord is so amazing! He died on the cross for our sins, he was the ultimate offering. He made the ultimate sacrafice for all of us so we could have eternal life. He died for us and washed away our sins. Whenever I think about what he did, my jaw drops. He loved us enough to kill himself. He did nothing wrong, he was PERFECT and he paid a dept he did not owe. I am so thankful to have such an amazing God!!!
Like it says in the song:
“YOUR BLOOD HAS WASHED AWAY MY SINS, JESUS THANK YOU!!!”
TNN was great last night!!! :D
I think that the chapter the earthly priesthood of man verses that of God’s I don’t know all the details but I think in Israel the people from the tribe of Levi were chosen to be the priests this is the tribe where Moses came from and also where the book Leviticus comes from but anyways the chapter talks about how the priests had to sacrifice a lamb or some other animal for their sins but that didn’t fully cover them then along came a carpenter from Nazareth who was the Son of God and the final sacrifice for us (something very interesting about Jesus’ death is that when He died it was 3:00 on Friday which was when the priests blew a horn to tell the people that the sacrificial lamb was killed think about it for a second) now all of us can go to heaven with Jesus as our priest so to speak
See ya at Church!!!! MARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COME O LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHERE ARE ALL THE POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????????
26Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
I like this verse because it says Jesus is always there, and has already taken our sins away to save us. I am really thankful that we are so privileged as to have a savior that died for our sins. I am also thankful that he is there in Heaven, waiting on us, and helping us.
18: The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless
19(for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.
The law was not meant to be the end all but to point out our sin and our need for a saviour. By observing the law, they saw that they couldn’t keep them and were guilty before God. I love “a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.” That is Jesus!
25Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
26Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
Praise God for sending us Jesus. He (not us) is able to save completely those who come to God through him!!!
Today I read:
27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
I’m with Bobbie. Jesus doesn’t need to offer a sacrifice because he IS the sacrifice. Also Jesus is perfect so he would never sin.

i read but i have a bucketload of hmwk so i can go into detail! SORRY au revior! :)
Michael, I don’t think anyones gong to post long names anymore. it was kinda funny to see all the funny names though.
Hebrews 7:25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
This verse is really neat because it talks about how God can work through anyone, and its true! But all we can do is pray and show them the love of Christ and God is the one to change there hearts. Also do not give up hope in anyone. If there is someone at your school or somewhere who just seems like it could never happen, do not let them go. Pray for them.
v.27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
When Christ died on the cross He made the ULTIMATE sacrifice for all of our sins. He gave up his life so that we could have a relationship with God. We should be sooo thankful for this. Anyways it is the least we could do for Him.
OH and also, this year I learned about how Leviticus is the book of instructions for priests and only the Levites (descendants of Levi) could be the priests. Just a little fact, this chapter sorta made me think of that.
I will see you all on Sunday. I would have been able to make it on Saturday but I have a playoff game for soccer at 5:00 soo it really wouldn’t work. BUT I wish you all a good night’s sleep and if I do not see you this weekend then I will see you on Wednesday.
P.S. Everybody keep up the good work of encouraging people.
MARANATHA AND GOD BLESS!!
26Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
Its amazing how Jesu NEVER sinned, like evr, we all sin almost every week! An entire blameless lifetime! He is set apart from us, he is Holy! Only through Him may we obtain life!
I read!
24but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
25Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
I really liked these verses because it talks about how Jesus is the one who saves us from God’s wrath. He is our mediator, and we should be eternally grateful to him for suffering so that we didnt have to! It is still so hard for me to understand how he could love us so much!
I’ll see you guys on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow. So many good comments from all of you! Keep it people. And keep on encouraging others to be spending time in the Word and with the Lord. I am so thankful like the rest of you that we have a high priest Jesus Christ that was able to be our sacrifice and put an end to the needed sacrifices to be in a relationship with God. Praise Jesus Christ!
Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. jesus is the perfect priest and we need to thank him all the time. i need to work on giving thanks and worshiping him more.
Oh wow it’s been so long since I last posted!
I read…..
Hebrews 7
verse 3 stood out to me.
“3Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever” this amazes me so much to think that God was there at the begining and he knows when the end will be, that he is out of the realm of time! I also liked verses 25-27
“25Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
This is the whole gospel or “good news! Jesus died for us and he was blameless to sin. He needs to be exalted and respected. He is the only way to heaven. Jesus had incredable love for us to die even though we were the sinners. It breaks my heart to think even as he is dying on the cross for the sins of the world people still mocked him and made fun of him. After reading these verses it has reminded me of God’s everlasting love for me even though I am a sinner. I am so grateful. Well that has been one of my beefiest posts yet!
MARANATHA!!!!!!! :)

I read Hebrews 7. I liked verse 27……
27Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
I liked this verse because it reminds us that God conquered the grave once and for all. He was the ultimate sacrifice and now we can be with Him when we die. all I got to say is WOW!!! God is sooo generous to us by laying down His life!!!
P.S. It would be great if you guys could pray for my brother right now because he goes to westmont college in Santa Barbra, and basically there is a huge fire there, all around his school. But praise the Lord he was able to get away from there with some of his friends. PLEASE pray for him to be safe! thanks!!
I read…
Hebrews 7
“Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.” This is what we need, one who is holy, blameless, pure, and sovereign in order to receive the Kingdom of Heaven. We cannot reach heaven on our own, through self-righteousness or payments to ease our “Purgatory”–as believed in Catholicism. And I love how it is blatantly expressed in this verse, that Jesus is there to meet our need.
I read and really liked verses 24,25 and 26:
But because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
To me this means that the price was paid once and for ALL and Jesus will satisfy our every need, more than the richest food will ever. HE has ALWAYS been with us and will be forever with His pure heart. He is truly amazing and is better than any one we can ever imagine.
God Bless!!
24but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
25Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
I thoughts these verses was of the coolness…
i liked them because they are comforting in a way to people who are not “saved” as well as those who are. The second verse was (i think) more clear than the first because it kind of explains his “permanent priesthood” i liked how verse 25 says that jesus will “intercede”(kind of replace)for us. this means that since we are not perfect and perfect or holy is God’s standard. that Jesus will intercede for us if we have the faith that he lived a perfect life, died for us on a cross (a kind of interceding thing) and then came back to life.
c u all whenever :)
4Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder! 5Now the law requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people—that is, their brothers—even though their brothers are descended from Abraham. now I think that this is wrong because you shouldn’t have to be related to Levi to be a priests you should be free to be one if you want to. 23Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; 24but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
25Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.26Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.27Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.28For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.wow I love what that says because obviously it’s true, but, the part I’m looking at is the part where they say that pretty much Jesus is high in biblical and regular knowledge and that no one is as smart as him.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiGOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!
iiiiiiiiiiiiiMARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.-SEE U GUYS SUNDAY!!!!!!!
3Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.
i like this verse because it say that Jesus remains a preist forever. he shows us something everyday. we just need to not have hardened haerts and see it!
7And without doubt the lesser person is blessed by the greater.
i like this verse because it says that the people who have less are blessed with more! we need to give everything to the Lord! we need to not want anything bbut him. God should be our main priority!
24but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
i like this verse because it says that God lives FOREVER!!! that is so comforting to know that our God was, is and is to come! he is the beginning and the end. he is so amazing we can’t even put it into words. it also says he is permanent preisthood. he will preach forever! he gives us miracles everday! he preaches to us through Paster Luke and through his Word and through other Christian who are more mature in there faith!
26Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
27Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
i like these verses because it says that Jesus is a high preist and he is perfect! and it says that people used to have to sacrifice animals for their sins, but Jesus offered himself. a holy perfect God would die for selfish sinful people. he took the punishment that we desirve. i never really think about what he really did for us! i always just hear it. but when i accually think about that it is so amazing and comforting that a Holy and perfect God would sacrifiece himself for us, the lowest of low. we deserve so much more than we get. it also makes me thankful that we have a God who cares that much for us that he would dieforus so that we can spend eternity with him!
i also like the last line in verse 28 the Son, who has been made perfect forever. that is really cool! :)
