Bobby and Brad take your comments and run with them in the Old City. They also do “How Do You Get Eternal Life? - Middle East Edition.

Wow, that’s an intense day off. I can’t think of a more interesting place to ask people how to get eternal life than the Old City of Jerusalem.
And, bro, I’m glad to see you developping an affinity for white chocolate/vanilla magnum bars. Those have a special place in my heart, too.
Interesting that the perhaps the devoutest from among these interviewees, the ‘devout’ Jewish worshiper, and I am guessing that by the way he was dressed in the middle of the day, his garb, his Yamaka, even his facia hair, all according to Jewish ‘law,’ and where he was located in the holy place next to the wailing wall where one makes their appeal before God, did say you get eternal life by keeping the law as described in the Torah, however, he did stop short of saying that he has kept all of the law, and he also stopped short of saying whether he had eternal life. All he could say was that IF you keep the law, you get eternal life, which he did not say he had done. (Obviously, he hadn’t, and he was aware of the fact that he hadn’t kept all of the law in how he answered the question). It would have been interesting to note whether or not he was aware that his very own Torah says that no man can keep God’s law, that all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, as outlined in numerous places in the Old Testament. Even the Muslim man was not sure if he had eternal life, that is, unless he was killed by a Jew or an American, in which case he would immediately be transported to Paradisio. So according to his twisted faith, to get eternal life we must be killed by an ‘infidel.’ Interesting how the ‘Crusades’ have had such a negative impact through the years which would perhaps underscore and remind us never to use force when it comes to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
Quite interesting to hear the responses to “How Do You Get Eternal Life” asked by Pastor Bobby. The responses were similar to those we hear in South Orange County; be good, follow the moral law, have love in your heart, complete certain religious tasks, etc. Of all the responses, no one knew for certain if they were going to heaven. How sad. But praise God for his grace and his promise to those who place their trust in Jesus Christ. For we are certain about our eternal life.
Great trip! Thanks Bobby and Brad for the great videos. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences and their photos. It sure brought back wonderful memories from last year’s trip.
Bobby….pretty brave confronting somebody carrying a gun about religion. We seem to have our troubles here at home confronting people that are ‘unarmed’. Did you end up swallowing the liver? Did anybody? Great video, we’ll keep up the prayers, you keep up the video and pics. Incidentally, Pete, Jon did a great fill in job Monday night.
Wow!
Well… I gagged my way through the lamb’s liver footage to get to the “Eternal Life” segment… and it was definitely worth it!
It is amazing how all the responses given could be reduced to one word: works. How can they not cry out with Paul, “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?”
You can see why Jesus wept over Jerusalem (John 19:41).
It just breaks my heart to hear these people trying to be right with God by “keeping the law”.
And then they last guy, with his response about being killed by a Jew or “America” providing an automatic “ticket to paradise”…
WOW!
God have mercy!!!
Jesus, may we be found faithful when you return!
Thanks Bobby and Brad!
We’re all looking forward to your safe return!
:o)
Oops… Luke 19:41
:o)
Eck!!!
The harvest (not the liver) is ripe. Sharing the right equation from Ephesians 2:8-10 is the top priority: the grace of God through faith in Christ alone equals salvation and allows us to respond with His good works.
God, please help us to respond rightly and with urgency to share the accurate biblical gospel with everyone. Time is short.
Safe travels home and thanks for the video and comments!
Hi Bobby, I actually like calve and chicken liver, but from your description of the lamb liver, I think I will pass!!
But, Wow, your interviews on eternal life were very interesting! And I agree with Rick Dival, about confronting the soldier with the gun!! But, praise God that you had the courage to do so.
Thanks for sharing your Israel experiences with us. We miss you and can’t wait to hear your stories in person and welcome you home. Keeping you in our prayers and asking for a safe flight back!
That lamb liver looked very deliciouis!!! Now I know not to eat one! Luckily you have a magnum bar to dissolve the taste!!
That was so cool how you talked to different people on the streets!! It was interesting to hear what they had to say. Retrun safe guys!!
What happened to you guys? Your Day 9 is over and we never got a day 8 report.
Trust all is good and look forward to seeing you soon.
Bruce:
Since they had to check out of the hotel the morning of day 8 and spent the rest of the day visiting the Garden Tomb and other places before leaving for the airport, Bobby did not have a chance to edit the video and send back to us. Of course all of day 9 was spent flying back to LAX.
Hey Bobby ~ First your brother, then your parents and now to be able to get a glimpse of Israel from your persperctive — thanks for documenting and sharing the day to day play by play of your trip. Another Blakey video captures the attention of our family!
It was great to see how many opportunities your group took to open up God’s Word and read the actual accounts and events that took place where you were standing. Talk about “ALIVE AND ACTIVE.” Praying for as you jump back into the vital ministry that you have there at Compass Bible with hopefully a new resolve to be all the more sold out to our Savior! Thanks again for sharing!
