Come to Jesus
During the offertory last weekend we sang a song called “Come”. Bobby and I wrote this song a couple years ago in response to Isaiah 55:1-3 and Matthew 11:28-30. The invitation in both of these passages is to come to Jesus for salvation. These verses are so encouraging for the person who has come to the realization that they cannot please God on their own or earn salvation by their own works. Our standing before God is completely based on the perfect and finished work of Jesus Christ.
The chorus of the song says , “He has died for my sin, so I could enter in, He has drawn me to come, so I will rise with the Son.” It’s because of Christ’s work on the cross that we enter into a relationship with God the Father. Christ did all the work and we get all the rest. And it is ultimately because of His drawing us that we come to Him and are saved.
I’m thankful for the free gift of salvation that is by faith and not by works. I hope you are encouraged too as you listen to the song and remember your standing before God in Christ alone!
Listen to the song.

Thanks so much for writing this post, Ty! “Come” is one of my favorites of your and Bobby’s songs. I was so encouraged listening to it a few times right now and considering the reality that my standing before God is completely based on the perfect and finished work of Jesus Christ and nothing I have done to earn it.
What an awesome song!!! And you sing it so beautifully Ty!!! How nice it is to have you place these wonderful songs on the web where we can listen to them over and over again!!!
Have an awesome day in the Lord!!!
Ty! I love being able to listen to your songs on the internet. I’m always so encouraged by the songs you and Pastor Bobby write. “Come” is another example of a worship song that truly worships God. Thanks for all you do for CBC–we’re so blessed to have you as our worship leader.
This is such a beautiful song, Ty!! I heard it last weekend, but to be able to really listen to it now on your blog is a real blessing. The words are so moving and taken right from scripture…”He has died for our sins so I could enter in”. It gives me chills just to think of it!. And “Come near to Jesus, find rest for your soul” is just what Pastor Mike was talking about last weekend. Thank you for songs like this!
fantastic, i love it.
Another HIT !!! Thanks Ty and Bobby…we are so blessed at CBC.
What a an absolutely beautiful song, Ty & Bobby…What a great reminder that it is all about HIM…HIS drawing and saving work…we can’t boast in any of it & if we are truly His we can never be cast out! Thanks for leading us in Christ-honoring worship and for sharing your gifts & talents with us.
Simple message of the gospel….crazy…He has drawn us to Him, died for our sin and we enter in…simple rest in salvation, a life to glorify Him. Thanks so much for the simplicity that shows Gods majesty of His message…thank you Ty and Bobby, To God be the glory……
I am going to agree with Christa, “Come” is one of my favorites. I love the part were it says “come with out money and feel free to buy” becasue it reminds me of the free gift of salvation that Christ gave me and How much it means to me. There is so much Biblical truth in this song; I love it! I can’t wait for the new cd; keep up the good work you guys!
