2. Read Romans 15:4 and Ephesians 6:17. Why is the Bible a central and indispensable means to keep your heart and mind fueled and protected to live for Christ in this fallen world?

3. Read Proverbs 15:23; 25:11 and Isaiah 50:4. This week, how can you specifically strategize to use the heartening and helpful truths of God’s words to lift up and help other Christians along in the Christian life?

4. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:11 and Colossians 3:16. Why do you think some Christians seek a kind of “encouragement” from particular kinds of churches that is not anchored in the truth and wisdom of God’s word? Describe a kind of artificial “encouragement,” which is ultimately damaging for professing Christians.

5. Read Proverbs 15:23-24 & 25:11-12. Now notice that in these passages the helpful and joyful words clearly include corrective words. Of what should you remind yourself when you need to provide loving biblical correction?
