Compass KIDS Weekends

What Kids Are Learning in 2016

Each weekend kids from infants through two years old learn age appropriate lessons from God’s word, the Bible. Threes through sixth grade learn the same Bible passage making reinforcing Bible truths at home easy and fun. Below are the lesson plans for the month. Please be sure to pick up the weekly take-home paper or click on the link to take you to “Parent Helps”.  This take-home paper is filled with lots of fun, easy-to-do and meaningful ways to help learning God’s word go deep into your child’s life. A great question to ask when your child comes out of class is not “Did you have fun?” (That’s a given!), but rather, “What did you do?” This will help kids articulate what happened during class time so you can help draw application to the important, life-changing lesson learned.

Family Room Available: We are dedicated to children learning God’s word at Compass from infants through sixth grade. Our faithful ministry team is fully equipped and trained to teach children the important truths of God’s word. However, we recognize that there are occasions for families with young children to visit the Family Room. The Family Room is for both mom and dad to bring a young child who needs the comfort of his or her parent. While visiting the Family Room, in consideration of others, we ask children are quiet so the message can be heard.

KIDS Chapel is the first weekend of the month unless otherwise noted. Locations are:

Compass KIDS Room (A110 in the 150 building) – 3 year olds through Kindergarten.

Compass Room (B100 in the 140 building) – 1st through 6th Grade.

Parents: always check your children into their regular classroom first and the teacher will escort the class to chapel.

Dear Parents:

As you know, the mission of KIDS Ministry is to lay a solid biblical foundation in the lives of children. We want kids to love coming to church to learn about God, his Son Jesus Christ, the Bible and how church works. Bible Bucks is a positive reward system to encourage kids to become actively involved in their classroom in a positive way now, while hopefully developing good habits in the future.

Quote from a CBC child: “You get to use “fake” money to buy “real” things!”

Below is a list of how your child can earn Bible Bucks each week at church.

  1. Attend Church 5 Bucks
  2. Bring Bible 5 Bucks
  3. Positively Participate 5 Bucks
  4. Help clean up 5 Bucks
  5. Demonstrate Godly Character: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control 5 Bucks
  6. Memorize the Scripture Verse of the Month with understanding 10 Bucks
  7. Recite Past Months’ Verses 10 Bucks each
  8. Bring a friend to Church 10 Bucks

Bible Buck Store is every second full weekend of each month during class time unless otherwise noted. Thank you for your on-going partnership in the spiritual development of your child. It is a privilege to serve you.
