The Unfailing Promises of God's Word — Romans 3:3-4

Sermon Recap

1. Cherie Day says:

Dear Pastor Mike. Thanks for the great message yesterday. Indeed there was so much to cover to keep it in context according to the conditional and unconditional parts of the covenants, that it would take more than a Sunday morning to cover. But I thought you did a great job so we could understand where the book of Romans is going in light of the Jew , the Gentile and Gods Sovereignty( esp when we get to 9-11) I appreciate you going to chapter 11 and keeping it context for the Jew as well as the Gentile. Interestingly enough I went to a church where the pastor totally did not preach on 9-11 because he knew his interpretation was controversial. Sad to say we missed the part about God in all of it! Thank you for persevering Pastor Mike, though you are tedious to touch on just a few verses it gives us a much broader view and understanding of where we have been and where we are going.
I also wanted to say that I picked up your book on praying for Sunday. Interesting view from the pulpit on covering the message and the messenger in prayer. Quite practical from a pastors perspective. I just want to remind you that Mark and I are diligent in our prayers for you as pastor, and for the leadership who continues to need uplifting in prayer constantly. We realize that leaders have the hardest job when it comes to study and example. But I want you to know that I know that the Holy Spirit will use the Word of the Lord through you as His instrument to teach us and to example it, and He will be the one to transform it in us to change us in our sanctification. Prayer is indeed important, but the power is in the Word that the Holy Spirit uses to bring about that change we all need. Thanks for reminding us to pray for you and for pastors, and for leadership. Otherwise we could be led astray or worse, stop growing!
Thanks for your dedication to teach, preach and pray and to example the things that you talk about each Sunday!
Mark and I still have an idea for writing the “ View from the Pew”, the congregants view, about preaching, teaching, prayer. But maybe there would be thousands of different books on that from so many thoughts coming from so many different people! Just a thought! We love that you take the intiative to write and to put it in booklet form and its just another way to preach( teach) as did the prophets before you.
Paul asked for prayer countless times over and over, you shouldnt need to remind us but its good you do. We stand with you in prayer.
In Christ

2. Sam Shafer, Jr. says:

Dear Pastor Mike:
There is NO sermon by Mike Fabarez that has ever been too long, nor will there ever be one. You keep preaching, we’ll pack lunch and share it with you.  That’s why the 3rd service is the best - you have the freedom to take more time to expound on the subject text, and do this to our advantage.
Thank you for your follow through on your commitment to preach the entire word of God with thoroughness and clarity.  The details illuminate the basic.
The privilege of being involved in CBC is a profound blessing.
We pray for you, your family, and the staff of CBC regularly.
IHS -
Sam
