About Compass Men
I Corinthians 16:13-14 “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
Compass Men’s Ministry exists to produce Christ-like men who give their lives to be leaders in the Church, the home, and the community. It is our desire that the men of the church would embrace their God given responsibility of sacrificial leadership and through the preaching of God’s word, prayer, discipleship, and service we will equip each man with the tools necessary to accomplish this task. When God’s role for a man is fulfilled the way He designed it to function great things can be achieved for His glory. Compass Men offers a Weekly Bible Study from September – May each year. And throughout the year, we have special events like PM in the PM where Pastor Mike sits down for an evening talking with the men about issues affecting us today.
Join Men’s Bible Study this summer as we look at the life and ministry of three missionaries. We will be meeting in 120 West on Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm, Wednesday mornings at 6:30 am, and Friday mornings at 6:30am on the following dates: July 11/12 and August 8/9.
We’ll continue our study with missionary, Jim Elliot. To prepare for the second session on July 11-12, we will be reading through the book, “Christian Heroes Then and Now” on Jim Elliot. Please follow this reading schedule:
Chapters 1-5 | June 20-21
“The Journey to Ecuador”
Chapters 6-10 | June 27-28
“An Ambition to Reach the Unreached”
Chapters 11-16 | July 4-5
“Giving All for the Gospel”
Join us for this year’s Fall Men’s Bible Study as we take a closer look at the Old Testament book of 1 Samuel. MBS homework binders will be available for purchase for $5 – the online study is available for free.
Fall Study begins on September 5, 2017 and runs through May 2018.
As Christian men we should all want to be known as men of God. This fall we want to look to God’s word to draw out principles that will help us define just what we mean by this. In a culture of ambiguity it’s increasingly important for the church to clearly define her terms. If we wish to be this type of man we must know what we’re striving for; we must know what are some of the defining characteristics of God’s man. So mark your calendars for September 8-9, and join us at CBC for the 2017 Men’s Conference: Defined.
